Convincing Landon by Serena Yates
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the seventh book in the Men of Riverside series.
Landon was graduating high school and ready to go to college. Then he found his oldest brother Ray beating their youngest Greg. Ray decided that since Landon was leaving that Greg should pull his weight around the ranch. Landon chose to stay and protect his younger brother. Their father disowned Greg when he went to college instead of coming back to work the ranch. Landon stayed to pay for Greg's school. When Greg became the high school coach he told Landon to go to college. Landon had been volunteering at shelter, he wanted to do social work.
Kendall is a senior in high school when he first sees Landon. He has a crush on him. Kendall even volunteers with Landon. He keeps trying to flirt with Landon but nothing happens. Kendall moves to Houston to go to college and to forget Landon. One night he decides to go to the local gay bar. He runs into Landon there. They make out in Landon's car. Friends with benefits is what they end up being. Kendall ends up spending the night one time. The next day Landon breaks up saying he can't be out and be a social worker. Kendall just walks away from him.
Eight years later they run into each other again.
I liked the story but felt Landon was childish and selfish. I think the story should of been longer.
